What is Milton Concert Presentations?
Milton Concert Presentations (MCP) is a non-profit group of volunteers dedicated to providing the people of Milton and surrounding areas with a variety of live musical concerts. Milton Concert Presentations History
Over the years, Milton Concert Presentations (MCP) has brought to Milton the Hamilton Philharmonic with conductor Boris Brott, the Toronto Philharmonic with Paul Robinson and the Toronto Philharmonia (formerly the North York Symphony) with conductor Kerry Stratton. Concerts have featured such musicians as violinist Jasper Wood, pianists Boris Krajny and Antonin Kubalek, singers Barbara Collier and Bruce Kelly, The North York Brass Quintet, The Great Lakes Classical Guitar Duo and many others.
MCP had its modest beginnings in 1985 with a series of three concerts at Halton Hills Place with an audience of approximately 60 people per concert. Over the next ten years the season expanded to a four concert series. At the end of the 2000 - 2001 season, the Nocturne Series expanded to a five concert series (now seven) and the audience had grown to a sell-out crowd of over 380 persons per concerts.
